Most DNS skills are open for low-volume public use. Higher-cost, automation-sensitive skills may use x402 payment without requiring an account or API key.
Current Mode
Open skills do not require an API key during the initial rollout. Web tools may still use browser protections such as reCAPTCHA where the existing UI already requires it.
x402 Paid Calls
Domain Availability starts at $0.001 USDC per domain. Domain Intelligence starts at $0.01 USDC per domain. Both publish discounted bulk tiers through 100 domains.
An unpaid request returns HTTP 402 with a base64-encoded challenge in PAYMENT-REQUIRED. Retry the same request with the signed payment in PAYMENT-SIGNATURE; a successful response includes settlement details in PAYMENT-RESPONSE. The challenge contains the exact total for the requested number of domains.
